Notes on the MNSN Ephemera CD-R

Charlie & the Chair” is from “23 Drifts to Guestling”, a psychic tv/throbbing gristle tape compiled around 83 by David Tibet. The original source is unknown though I suspect it’s Tom Snyder.

The New Surfsiders “Never Learn Not to Love”. (Norton Records) This guy was in the Sea Monkeys who masterly covered the “Food Emporium” jingle. (A NY Scum reference.) https://youtu.be/vgtKU0qSwQo

The Greenwoods: “Please Don’t Sell My Daddy No More Wine.” The songwriter Tom V. Lane once lived with Gypsy Share. (Sanders, The Family p.131) In 1969 Lane co-wrote with Sharyn Pulley “when I just wear my smile” for a Mama Cass album.

Destiny: Miss Fromme. MVK Records. MVK 100, 824 N. Sherman St. Allentown, PA. written and produced by C. Moll. Astonishing. A soul sing-a long with a heavy metal guitar. They mispronounce her name: it’s not Fromme it’s From-MAY.? “Where did you go wrong Miss Fromme? Miss Fromme?...now everyone go out and assassinate. Bang bang shoot em up…Lee Harvey Oswald where are you? You could have shown them what to do.”

Charity Shayne: this is the violinist Catherine Gypsy Share. The writer/producer is Marty Cooper who was a collaborator of Jack Nitzsche.  The label was run by two Bay Area DJ’s Tom Donahue and Bobby Mitchell from KYA. Their only hit was The Beau Brummels which isn’t saying much. “Ain’t it? Babe” isn’t an exact copy of “it ain’t me babe” but it’s close, even with a harmonica. Her voice sounds great. (Autumn Records #22. October 1965.)

Steve Grogan Band: “Mama Tried”. Live in Tracy Prison 27 January 78.

Distributed by antiquated but feasible technology.

A collection of Manson ephemera for your listening pleasure.

sometimes i feel im scared to live.
